Katsu is a Japanese curry shop situated in Glasgow’s city centre, on West Nile Street. This bustling hub serves everything katsu, in an intimate and cosy environment. With high tables along the windows and an outdoor seating area, this spot is perfect for people watching. The space is decorated with bright coloured walls, as well as ambient lighting.

This restaurant makes everything katsu! This is any meat, seafood or veg covered in crispy panko breadcrumbs. The whole menu is packed with katsu variations including, sushi rolls, curry & temaki (a larger sushi cone). They also offer a great selection of gyozas and yakisoba noodles. The eatery also has a unique dessert selection with dishes such as, banana tempura & black sesame ice-cream on offer.

Bibimbap is a Korean restaurant, located on West Nile Street in the city centre of Glasgow. This eatery has a vibrant atmosphere, the walls are decorated with greenery and bright neon signs, while the ceiling is adorned with multi-coloured upside-down umbrellas.

The varied menu is split into sections, including small plates, wok-fried dishes and, of course the classic bibimbap. This traditional Korean dish literally translates to ‘bibim’ meaning mixed and ‘bap’ meaning rice. So, a bibimbap is essentially a bowl made up of steamed white rice and assorted vegetables, along with seared meat, and of course, topped with a fried egg!

Another standout on the jam-packed menu, is the KFC, which stands for Korean Fried Chicken! This delicious chicken is coated in crispy batter and served with spiced Yum Yum sauce on the side, definitely not something to miss. Don’t forget to order some of the delicious small plates for the table, in particular the dumplings, as well as the king-prawn tempura!

Bibimbap also has an interesting drinks selection, with many drinks incorporating soju, which is the national alcoholic spirit of Korea. The ‘Soju Sour’ and the ‘Cherry Gin Sling’ are both a must try!

These vibrant restaurants both offer a flavour of East Asia at an affordable price, in the heart of Glasgow’s city centre.
